Who is responsible
Tribe Meguri is provided by Geistzeit Ltd, 950 Great West Road, Profile West Suite 2, First Floor, TW8 9ES Brentford, United Kingdom (company number 14158673), which is responsible for processing your personal data on tribemeguri.com. For any privacy question, write to support@tribemeguri.com.
We process your data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What this notice covers
It covers the website tribemeguri.com, the waitlist and the emails we send for it. Tribe Meguri is in a closed beta right now. What the app itself processes for testers will be added here before the first testers use the app on tribemeguri.com.
Waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we store:
- your email address
- the language of the page you signed up on (German or English)
- when you signed up, when we last sent you a confirmation email and when you confirmed
- a checksum (hash) of your confirmation link, never the link itself
We need this to make sure the address is yours (double opt-in) and to let you know by email as soon as you can use Tribe Meguri. Nothing else: no advertising, no sharing.
The basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to support@tribemeguri.com, and we delete your entry. If you do not confirm your address, we delete the entry once the confirmation link expires after 7 days. Confirmed entries are kept until we have invited you at launch or you leave the list.
Sign-in links for beta access
If you already have beta access, the same form sends you a sign-in link. For that we store your email address, the time and a checksum of the link. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
Cookies
The website only sets cookies that are technically necessary:
- After you submit the form, a cookie keeps your email address for 15 minutes so you can request the email again.
- After you sign in, a cookie keeps your session, for at most 30 days.
We use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and the website loads no content from other providers.
Hosting, email and backups
The website and the database run on a server of Infomaniak Network SA in Switzerland, and we send our emails through Infomaniak as well. Every night the database is backed up, encrypted, to Infomaniak Swiss Backup in Switzerland. Backups are kept in tiers: daily ones for 30 days, monthly ones for 12 months, yearly ones for 5 years. Deleted entries can therefore remain in these encrypted backups for up to five years. We only access them to restore data after an outage.
The server does not log visits to the website. Technical errors can produce log entries containing an email address; they are overwritten automatically over time.
Your data stays in Switzerland. Geistzeit Ltd is based in the United Kingdom, which Switzerland recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent. Write to support@tribemeguri.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Switzerland that is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
